Message from Council Chairperson

Dear Lions, Leos, Lionesses, family and friends,

Thank you for visiting our webpage despite the euphoria over the World Cup. I trust you are in excellent health, happy and your favorite teams have performed to their full potential.

The final whistle has gone out and the 93rd Lions International Convention at Sydney Australia has come to an end on July 2 2010 with the International Board and District Governors installed at a colorful and memorable closing ceremony. They are all reenergized and have renewed their pledges to serve you with great vigour and enthusiasm. Another season of exciting game has started and they are ready to score goals.

Your Council kicks off with its first meeting on July 10 & 11 at Johor Bahru where strategies and game plans will be unfolded. We have a team of 16 experienced senior players (PCCs & PDGs who serve as Council Committee Chairpersons) who had commanded high appearance fees during those glorious years. Eight promising and energetic players (1st and 2nd VDGs) are also receiving valuable lessons on the field preparing themselves to move from the bench to captain their own teams in a year or two. Leading the charge is the Council of Governors of six (Council Chair, Council Vice Chair & four DGs) in their respective forward positions to steer the team to achieve the desired goals. Guiding and coaching the team are two flamboyant and well respected former stars (Council Advisors PID Ellis Suriyati and PID Dato’ KK Lee) whose wise counsels no winning teams can afford to ignore.

Our team needs your support. Please cheer them on when the going is tough. Your unflinching support will see them through challenging situations.

Finally we hope all the players would play their hearts out to give the supporters lots to cheer.
